One world..

We're living in an age where countries and cultures are colliding. Globalisation, they call it. I'll leave it to the intellectuals to thrash out the advantages, disadvantages, blah, blah, and give my own opinions. And a fine set of 'em I do have..

First of all, the world's a beeeautiful place, and each country has her own charm and attraction. I love visiting various spots on God's green earth (I've been lucky enough to have seen a few), but one thing I've always noticed is that, about a week into the trips, I start getting homesick. I miss the beautiful weather, the hustle and bustle, the earthiness that my homeland possesses. It's as though the scent, the colours and the soul of that city are intermingled with my lifeblood.

It's not a glamourous place. It's not even too tourist-y. Nevertheless, there's something that captures your heart and holds fast. An outsider may see the dust, the maniac traffic, the noise and the utter chaos that is TVM first. Hell, most of the insiders gripe about it! But sometimes, this tiny gem shoring the Indian ocean gives us a glimpse of her true self. The one unblemished by mankind. Emerald green, steeped in culture, fairly exploding with joie de vivre.

Sigh. I wanted to blog about something along the lines of settling in a new country, leaving your birthplace etc, but it inadvertently seems to have veered into a love letter(?) to Trivandrum. Oh well, maybe next time!

There's a magic to the hometown that defies words.

Clearly, words have even defied you, but great attempt nevertheless. :D Not a person, would lament hypocritically on the state of affairs of her/his hometown (Trivandrum) after reading this post.

Incisive, for one. :) Yeah, more incisive than endearing. :D
